SCMR Stress Perfusion CMR Course 2026

24.09.26 - 25.09.26

On 24–25 September 2026, the Lithuanian Society of Cardiology and the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences will host the SCMR Stress Perfusion CMR Course in Kaunas, together with the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. It is a two-day, hands-on course chaired by Professor Vanessa Ferreira (SCMR President, University of Oxford) and myself, bringing international faculty to the Baltics for a format that is deliberately small and practical: state-of-the-art lectures, extensive case reading, hands-on perfusion post-processing and quantitative myocardial blood flow analysis, and a live stress perfusion scanning demonstration.

This is very much a course for the HIT generation. Stress perfusion CMR now sits in both the ESC and the AHA/ACC guidelines for known or suspected coronary artery disease, yet very few trainees get structured, supervised exposure to it – protocol setup, artefact recognition, confident qualitative reading, and knowing when quantification actually changes a decision.
